The manager of Mango Grove Nature Park and Resort called me a few weeks back.  She informed me that the title to the property I bought is now ready.

Oh yes, I am also an investor at Mango Grove.  We have had our share of mangoes for the past two years now.  This year there was a lot more than we could consume so I sold most of Ithe fruits.  When I have disposed all of them, one of the mothers who got some asked me for some more because her son was asking for more.

Investors at Mango Grove obtain title to a plot with a few mango trees.  Whether or not their trees bear fruit, they get a share of the harvest after paying for the property in full.

It was raining when I first visited Mount Malarayat Golf & Country Club and Residential Estates in Lipa Batangas.  A group of us new agents went there to familiarize ourselves with the project.  It took us almost two hours to get there and along the way the shower went on and off and on again.

There was still a light drizzle when we got to Mount Malarayat.  Almost as soon as the rain stopped, we noticed a couple of golfers who hurried onto the course.  We were informed that if they got mud on their shoes, they will not pay anything for their game.

Well, the course was designed to be played in any weather.  Of course nobody will be allowed on the course during a storm.  However games could be played during the rainy season because of the way the drainage system is designed.  You see, it  gets the water out of the soil as soon as the rain stops.

 They have not forgotten that business people also have families.  They would like to encourage bonding too.  They have included parks and play areas for rest and relaxation.  They also allow 25% of the property to be used as a dwelling place.  Their tagline is "Your home, your workplace".  These small enterprises are after all usually family corporations with family members doing most of the work initially.

What I would really like to talk aout are the mangoes.  The trees were planted in waves so while not all of the plots have been planted, there are now fruit bearing trees (this is the fourth year that there was a harvest).  I have a plot there so I get a share of the harvest.  That is how I know what sort of fruits they bore.

The mangoes are of the Guimaras variety.  I am told this is the only type we export as a fruit.  I can assure you they are so sweet.  I sold some of the mangoes from my share.  The next day those who bought asked if there were more because they liked it very much.  Well, I did sell at a good price so they were gone quickly.

Mangoes also ear fruit for a good 100 years.  So investing in a mango farm means that your grandchildren will still be enjoying your investment long after you have passed on and passed the land to them.

There was once a lady who sold Sarah Lee products.  She was very good at her craft.  She could talk to anybody and not be afraid or ashamed to tell them what she did for a living.  Her personal assistant marveled at her ability and wondered how long before she can be as brave as her boss.  I have thought about her a lot since I started in real estate. 

When I got involved with marketing Mango Grove (Mango Grove Nature Park and Resort , a farm resort development in San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija), it occurred to me that this was a chance to overcome my shyness.
 This time, I really need to approach people and start talking to them.  

The first test came when I had to man the company's booth in a public exhibition.  I was nervous because I thought of the ways I reacted to people who approached me before urging flyers and brochures to me.  I can guess how people would react but I never though of how to counter these actions.  I was always on the receiving end of that piece of paper until now.

Well, the exhibit date came.  Our boss had us wearing costumes, a long skirt and a blouse made from the same material they use for tubao (that's a big hankerchief from Mindanao).  And guess what, our booth was right in front of the entrance to the exhibit hall.

I surprised myself.  Not only was I able to parlay people's reactions to my flyers.  I even enjoyed the event.  Now, I look forward to working during exhibits.  You get to meet all kinds of people and hear about what they could possibly be looking for in real estate.

 So far, my studies have not met my expectation byt my work life is doing well.  Actually, on my first job, I already had a couple of people reporting to me directly.  They were older than me and did not call me boss or anything but they did their job and so did I. 

At 33, I went freelance.  That was my first business.  The products and services include my skill set.   I did pretty well too.  Then we had some deaths in the family and some concerns came out.

I brought the problem to a friend who I thought would help.  It turned out he was more interested in signing me up for his company.  Well enough but he never got to even starting to work on my original concern.  In fact, if you ask him now, he probably would not remember what it was.  So I get involved in classes and took the exam.  What do you know, I passed!
